Internal Family Systems—understanding inner parts with curiosity and self-compassion.
What to know
Do you ever feel like there are lots of different voices or parts inside your head—some that criticize, others that protect, and maybe a few that just want to be heard? Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy helps you understand these inner parts and how they affect your feelings and behaviors.
Rather than trying to push these parts away, IFS encourages you to connect with your core “Self,” a calm and compassionate inner leader who can help heal and harmonize these different voices. This approach helps you develop greater self-awareness, acceptance, and emotional balance.
Research supports IFS as an effective treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Many people find it transformative because it recognizes the complexity inside each person and fosters lasting healing by treating the whole inner system, not just isolated symptoms.
Our IFS approach focuses on creating a safe space for you to explore and integrate these different parts, fostering self-compassion and understanding. We work with you to develop strategies for managing internal conflicts and building a more harmonious inner environment.
