What to know

A little context before we meet

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy primarily used to treat trauma and PTSD. EMDR helps your brain process traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge and lasting impact.

During sessions, you’ll be guided to recall distressing events while focusing on a specific type of bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements or finger-tapping. This process helps rewire how the brain stores traumatic memories, making them less triggering and easier to manage.

Many people find EMDR to be a powerful and relatively fast way to reduce trauma symptoms and regain control over their lives; some within a few weeks and most within a few months.
