What to know

A little context before we meet

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on helping you accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting or avoiding them. Rather than trying to eliminate pain or discomfort, ACT encourages you to notice these experiences without judgment and commit to living a meaningful life aligned with your values.

Through mindfulness and behavior change techniques, ACT helps reduce the struggle with inner experiences and increases psychological flexibility. This approach is especially useful for anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and stress, providing tools to live fully even when challenges persist.

In practice, that can mean clarifying what matters most to you, noticing unhelpful thought loops without getting stuck in them, and taking small values-based steps—even on hard days. The goal is not perfect control of feelings; it is a freer, more intentional life alongside them.
